How trade ordering works

New to buying wholesale, or just want to check how we work? The essentials are below. Anything else, the trade desk is one message away.

What is a case in wholesale?
A case is the manufacturer’s original shipping box – a fixed number of retail units, shown on every product as the "units per case" (for example, a case of 6 or 24). In wholesale you buy the whole case rather than single items, which is why the price shown is the price per case, not per unit. To work out your cost per unit, divide the case price by the units per case.
What is a pallet, and how many cases are on one?
A pallet is a full stack of cases of a single line, shrink-wrapped and shipped as one unit. The number of cases per pallet varies by product (it’s shown on the product page), typically from around 50 to a few hundred. Buying by the pallet gives you the lowest price per case because it’s the most efficient way to pick, load and ship – those savings are passed on to you.
What is a layer on a pallet?
A layer is a single tier of cases on a pallet – a middle option between one loose case and a full pallet. On fast-moving lines, buying by the layer gets you a better price per case than singles without committing to a whole pallet, which suits shops that turn stock quickly but don’t have the space for full pallets.
What is the difference between buying wholesale and buying retail?
Wholesale means buying goods in bulk – by the case, layer or pallet – at trade prices, to resell in your shop, forecourt, discount store or online. Retail is buying single units at the recommended selling price for personal use. Wholesale prices are lower per unit but require buying in quantity, and they’re only shown to approved trade account holders, not the general public.
Can I mix different products in one order?
Yes. You build a mixed order across as many different lines as you like – a case of this, a layer of that, a full pallet of your best seller – all in one delivery, as long as the order meets the minimum order value. You don’t have to buy a full pallet of any single product to order.
Do I need a trade account to see prices and order?
Yes. Prices and ordering are for approved trade account holders only, so the open market never sees your buying prices. You can apply online in a few minutes – once your account is approved you’ll see your own agreed pricing, your last price paid on each line, and be able to place orders straight away.
How do I open a trade account?
Apply online using the trade account form – you’ll need your business details (company or trading name, VAT number if registered, and delivery address). Applications are usually reviewed the same working day. Once approved you log in to see live trade pricing and place orders; there’s no cost to hold an account.
What payment terms do you offer – pro-forma or credit?
New accounts order on a pro-forma basis, meaning you pay by secure card checkout before the order is dispatched. Once you’ve traded with us and built a history, you can apply for a credit account with agreed payment terms (for example 30 days), subject to a credit check.
Is there a minimum order value?
Yes – there’s a minimum order value that keeps trade pricing and delivery viable, and it’s shown on the Delivery page and again at checkout. You can reach it by mixing any lines across your order; there’s no minimum on individual products beyond buying by the case.
How fast is delivery, and where do you deliver?
Orders are picked, checked and turned around quickly across the UK mainland, whether you’re buying by the case or the full pallet. Exact cut-off times, lead times and any delivery-area details are on the Delivery page. Some lines are routed direct from the distributor (drop-ship) so you can sell the range without holding the stock.
Which brands and product categories do you stock?
The range covers the everyday FMCG categories shops sell most: household and cleaning, laundry, personal care, health and first aid, hair and skincare, confectionery and snacks, and soft drinks – in the branded lines customers ask for by name. You can browse the full catalogue by category or shop A–Z by brand.
Do you export, and can you ship a full container?
Yes. As well as UK trade supply, orders ship worldwide to retailers and distributors by the pallet or the full container (FCL), with documentation, consolidation and freight handled for you. Talk to the trade desk about your market and volume for a delivered price.
