This statement sets out the steps [ALB Wholesale Ltd] takes to understand and reduce the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. We make it voluntarily; we may fall below the turnover threshold that makes a statement mandatory under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, but we believe it is the right thing to do.

ALB is a UK trade wholesaler of household, cleaning and personal-care goods. We buy branded and own-label FMCG products from UK-based suppliers and distributors and sell them on to trade customers. Our supply chains therefore run mainly through established UK suppliers of well-known consumer brands.

We do not tolerate slavery, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. We pay our people fairly and lawfully, and we expect the suppliers we buy from to do the same and to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and relevant employment and human-rights law.

We favour established suppliers and distributors of reputable brands, which lowers exposure to high-risk labour practices. Where we take on new suppliers we consider their standing and compliance, and we expect all suppliers to uphold these standards and to address any concerns raised. We keep our approach under review as the business grows.
